Hoshizaki SRK-10J remote condenser unit for KMS series crescent cuber icemakers

Product Description

The Hoshizaki SRK-10J is a weather-resistant remote condenser matched to the KMS-822MLJ and KMS-830MLJ remote-cooled crescent cuber icemakers. It also serves as the current replacement for the discontinued SRK-8H.

Why Go Remote

A remote condenser moves the heat rejection and fan noise of the refrigeration cycle outside the building. An air-cooled machine puts both into the room it occupies, which raises the ambient temperature every other piece of refrigeration in that room then has to fight. For ice machines sited near a bar, a service counter, or in an already-warm kitchen, going remote is normally driven by that constraint.

Siting and Power

The cabinet is built for outdoor mounting, with 24 inches of clearance specified front and rear for airflow. Refrigerant tubing kits are sold separately in 25, 35 and 55 foot lengths, setting the practical distance between condenser and head. The unit is hardwired on site at single phase 208-230V, four wire including ground; no cord or plug is supplied.

Matching to the Head

Remote condensers are rated to specific icemakers by capacity and refrigerant charge. The SRK-10J is specified for the KMS-822MLJ and KMS-830MLJ. If the installation is replacing an existing SRK-8H, this is the model Hoshizaki names as its successor.
