Hoshizaki SRC-10J remote condenser unit for FS series cubelet icemakers

Product Description

The Hoshizaki SRC-10J is an outdoor-rated remote condenser sized to pair with the Serenity Series FS-1001MLJ-C and FS-1022MLJ-C remote-cooled cubelet icemakers. It carries the condenser and fan outside the building so the ice machine head can be installed indoors without rejecting its heat into the room.

What a Remote Condenser Buys You

On an air-cooled machine, everything the refrigeration cycle removes from the water ends up as heat and fan noise in the room the machine sits in. Moving the condenser outside removes both. In a kitchen already fighting ambient temperature, or anywhere the machine sits near a dining room or a service counter, that is usually the deciding factor rather than a preference. The trade is a refrigerant line run and a second piece of equipment to site and power.

Siting and Installation

The cabinet is built weather-resistant for outdoor mounting. Hoshizaki calls for 24 inches of clearance front and rear for airflow. Refrigerant tubing kits are offered separately in 25, 35 and 55 foot lengths, which sets the practical limit on how far the condenser can sit from the head. The unit is hardwired on site — four wire including ground, single phase 208-230V — and is not supplied with a cord or plug.

Matching Matters

Remote condensers are matched to specific icemaker models by capacity and refrigerant charge. The SRC-10J is specified for the FS-1001MLJ-C and FS-1022MLJ-C. Pairing a condenser with a head it is not rated for will not deliver rated ice production and may not be covered.
