Product Description

The Hoshizaki KM-161BAJ keeps the same 23-3/4 inch width as the smaller KM-116BAJ but runs four inches deeper, and that depth buys a 78 lb bin and up to 163 lb of crescent cube ice per 24 hours. It is the model to reach for when a 53 lb bin is emptying faster than the machine can refill it.

Production against bin size

Daily output and bin capacity are separate constraints, and this machine is deliberately weighted toward the bin. A 78 lb reservoir absorbs a dinner rush without the machine having to keep pace minute by minute, then refills through the quiet hours. If your peak demand is short and sharp rather than steady, the larger bin matters more than the extra production.

Crescent cube ice

Crescent cubes are half-moons with one flat face. They stay loose in the bin instead of freezing into a single block, so scooping stays easy through service, and their solid form melts slowly enough to keep a drink from watering down. The bin opening is ADA compliant.

Air-cooled, self-contained

The condenser is air-cooled, so there is no condenser water line and no remote rack to coordinate. It arrives cord-connected with a NEMA 5-15 plug and a 6.5 ft cord for a 115V 15A circuit, and needs a potable water supply and a gravity drain. This is a one-piece cabinet, not a modular head, so it does not stack on a separate bin.
