Hoshizaki KM-1601SAJ air-cooled stackable crescent cube ice machine head unit

Product Description

The Hoshizaki KM-1601SAJ is a 48-inch air-cooled stackable Crescent Cuber producing up to 1,513 pounds of ice per 24 hours. It is the largest air-cooled head in Hoshizaki's stackable line and, uniquely at this capacity, needs no water-cooled condenser loop and no outdoor refrigeration lines — it works from a standard electrical connection and a water supply alone.

Stackable to more than 3,000 pounds a day

The cabinet is only 27-3/8 inches tall so a second identical head can be stacked on top of it, taking site output past 3,000 pounds a day on the same footprint and the same bin. For an operation growing into that range, the vertical path avoids re-planning a machine wall entirely — the second unit lands where the first one already is. Bins are purchased separately, from the B-800 through the B-1650.

Air-cooled simplicity at 1,500 pounds a day

Everything the machine needs to reject heat is inside the cabinet, which removes both the condenser water and drain a water-cooled unit requires and the line set and outdoor condenser a remote unit requires. That is a meaningfully cheaper and faster installation, provided the room can supply airflow and absorb the heat. Crescent ice interlocks loosely rather than packing, so it flows out of a bin and through a scoop instead of bridging solid. If the site has no neutral available, the HS-5030 transformer kit is required.
