Product Description

The Hoshizaki KM-1601MRJZ is the current-generation 30-inch remote-cooled Crescent Cuber, producing 1,594 pounds of ice per 24 hours. It is the machine for operations that run out of ice rather than run low on it: full-service hotels, hospital foodservice, stadium concessions and any kitchen where a bin is emptied and refilled several times a day.

1,594 pounds a day from a 30-inch cabinet

Reaching this output in a 30-inch-wide footprint is only possible because the condensing unit is outdoors. Nothing about the machine's heat rejection touches the kitchen — no HVAC load, no compressor noise, no derating as the room warms, and no clearance requirement around the head for airflow. What sits inside is a 30-inch by 41-5/8-inch cabinet. Installation requires a refrigeration line set and a separately purchased remote condensing unit, and the HS-5030 transformer kit if the site has no neutral available.

Crescent cube, CycleSaver and EverCheck

At this volume the shape of the ice becomes an operational question. Crescent cubes interlock loosely instead of freezing into a solid mass, so ice keeps flowing out of a bin and through a scoop rather than bridging and needing to be broken apart by hand. CycleSaver design harvests from a dual-sided evaporator to shorten the cycle at 4.35 kWh per 100 pounds, and the EverCheck alert system flags developing faults early — worth having on the machine an operation genuinely cannot run without.
