Product Description

The Hoshizaki KM-1340MAJ is a 30-inch air-cooled Crescent Cuber producing 1,275 pounds of ice per 24 hours. It sits at the top of Hoshizaki's 30-inch modular range: a full 1,275 pounds a day from a cabinet no wider than a 1,000-pound machine, which is what makes it the answer when the machine wall is fixed but demand is not.

High output from a 30-inch footprint

The capacity comes from a taller cabinet rather than a wider one — 41-1/2 inches high against the 32-1/2 inches of the KM-1100 — so a site that cannot give up another foot of wall can still gain roughly 200 pounds a day of production. It is ENERGY STAR qualified at 4.81 kWh per 100 pounds. Note one installation detail before quoting: if the site has no neutral available, the HS-5030 transformer kit is required.

Crescent cube with a dual-sided evaporator

Crescent ice interlocks loosely instead of packing solid, so it flows out of a bin and through a scoop rather than bridging into a frozen block that has to be broken up by hand — a daily difference at 1,275 pounds a day. Hoshizaki's dual-sided stainless evaporator harvests from both faces to shorten the cycle. The head mounts on a separately purchased bin, from the B-500 through the B-1650.
