Product Description

The Hoshizaki KM-1301SWJ3 is the three-phase water-cooled build of the 48-inch stackable Crescent Cuber, producing 1,360 pounds of ice per 24 hours. Combining water cooling with three-phase power produces the lowest running load anywhere in the KM-1301S family: 6.1 amps and 3.25 kWh per 100 pounds.

The lowest-draw configuration in the family

Two efficiencies compound here. Water cooling rejects condenser heat into the water circuit rather than the room, so the machine holds its rating in a warm equipment space instead of derating as it heats its own surroundings. Three-phase service then cuts the current draw further, to 6.1 amps — less than half what the remote-cooled single-phase version pulls. Where an electrical panel is tight or the mechanical space is already warm, this is the configuration that fits. It also uses less water per pound than the single-phase water-cooled model, at 16 gallons per 100 pounds. Budget a condenser supply and drain.

Stackable head, crescent ice

The 27-3/8-inch cabinet is short by design so a second identical head can be stacked on it, doubling site output to roughly 2,700 pounds a day without additional floor. Crescent ice interlocks loosely instead of packing solid, so it pours out of a bin and through a scoop rather than bridging into a mass that has to be broken up. Bins are purchased separately, from the B-800 through the B-1650.
