Product Description

The Hoshizaki KM-1301SAJ3 is the three-phase build of the 48-inch stackable air-cooled Crescent Cuber, producing 1,427 pounds of ice per 24 hours. Three-phase power is the reason to specify it: on a 208-230V three-phase service the machine draws 9.5 amps rather than the 12.4 amps its single-phase sibling needs, and it produces about 60 pounds a day more ice while doing it.

ENERGY STAR qualified at 3.95 kWh per 100 lb

The three-phase configuration is the most efficient way Hoshizaki builds this platform. At 3.95 kWh per 100 pounds it is ENERGY STAR qualified and uses 15.6 gallons of potable water per 100 pounds — meaningfully less water than the single-phase version of the same machine. On a unit running near capacity year-round, that gap compounds into a real operating-cost difference and usually clears the threshold for utility rebate programs.

Stackable, with dual-sided evaporators

At 27-3/8 inches tall the head is built to be stacked: a second identical unit on top doubles site output on the same footprint and bin line, which is how a growing operation adds ice capacity without finding more floor. Crescent ice interlocks loosely instead of packing solid, so it flows out of a bin and through a scoop cleanly. Bins are purchased separately, from the B-800 through the B-1650.
