Product Description

The Hoshizaki FS-1001MLJ-C is a Serenity Series cubelet icemaker producing up to 851 pounds of chewable nugget ice per 24 hours. The Serenity platform exists for one reason: to put high-volume ice production into rooms where people are, without the noise and heat that normally rule a machine of this capacity out of a lobby, cafeteria or patient floor.

Built around the remote condenser

The FS-1001MLJ-C is remote-only. All the noisy, heat-generating refrigeration work happens at an SRC remote condenser mounted outdoors, and the head unit that remains indoors is a low-profile module holding only 3.5 ounces of refrigerant. The 115V supply for the icemaker is fed from the 230V remote condenser, which simplifies the rough-in to a single service run. What sits in the occupied space is a quiet, shallow cabinet rather than a full condensing unit.

Cubelet ice for beverage and patient service

Cubelet is compressed flake: soft enough to chew without risk, high in surface area so it chills a drink almost on contact, and slow enough to melt that it will not dilute a fountain beverage. It is extruded continuously by an auger rather than harvested in batches, so output stays level through a rush. Advanced CleanCycle24 flushes the water circuit automatically each day to slow scale, and the greaseless bearing auger removes lubrication from the maintenance routine.
