Product Description

The Hoshizaki FD-650MRJZ-C is a 22-inch remote-cooled cubelet head producing 588 pounds of chewable nugget ice per 24 hours — the mid-capacity choice for a single dispenser station where the larger 800-pound-class machines would be oversized. It mounts above a dispenser or storage bin, both purchased separately.

ENERGY STAR qualified remote-cooled operation

Remote condensing puts the compressor and condenser outside the served space, so heat and noise both leave the room and the head unit needs no ventilation clearance around it. That combination is what makes this machine practical for a nurse station, a hotel lobby or a quiet dining room. It is also ENERGY STAR qualified at 4.95 kWh per 100 pounds, which keeps it eligible for the utility rebate programs that most facility projects now check first. Budget for a line set and a separately purchased remote condensing unit.

Cubelet ice and continuous auger production

Cubelet is compressed flake: soft enough to chew safely, fast to chill because of its surface area, and slow enough to melt that it does not dilute a fountain drink. Because it is extruded continuously by an auger rather than frozen and harvested in batches, output does not sag during a sustained draw. Advanced CleanCycle24 flushes the water circuit daily to slow mineral build-up, and the greaseless bearing auger takes lubrication out of the service routine.
