Product Description

The Hoshizaki FD-1002MRJZ-CB is the black-front build of the 22-inch remote-cooled cubelet head, producing 821 pounds of chewable nugget ice per day. The finish is the reason to choose this variant: mounted above a beverage dispenser in a customer-facing lobby, cafeteria line or convenience-store fountain, the black front reads as part of the dispenser rather than as back-of-house equipment.

Remote condensing for customer-facing installations

With the condensing unit located outdoors or on the roof, only the ice-making head occupies the service area. Condenser heat and compressor noise both leave the room, which is what makes a machine of this capacity workable in a lobby or dining space, and the head is freed from the ventilation clearances an air-cooled unit needs. Plan for a refrigeration line set and a separately purchased remote condenser.

Cubelet ice for beverage service

Cubelet is compressed flake — soft enough to chew, high enough in surface area to chill a drink almost immediately, and dense enough in a cup that it displaces beverage efficiently without watering it down. Production is continuous through an auger rather than batched, so the machine keeps pace through a rush instead of waiting out a harvest cycle. CleanCycle24 flushes the water system automatically every 24 hours to slow scale build-up between manual cleanings.
