Hoshizaki F-1002MLJ 22 inch remote low-side modular flake ice machine

Product Description

The F-1002MLJ is the low-side remote build of Hoshizaki's 22 inch modular flaker, rated at 1,028 lbs of flake ice per 24 hours. It is the highest-output machine in the 22 inch F-1002 family, and the reason is the split system: with the compressor and condenser outside the building, the head unit carries no rejected heat and none of the electrical load that goes with it.

Low-Side Remote Configuration

A low-side remote head draws just 3.3 amps on 115v and needs only a 15A circuit, against the 15+ amps a self-contained air-cooled machine of this class pulls. Energy consumption at the head is 1.51 kWh per 100 lbs. The trade is field refrigeration work at install and a remote condensing unit ordered to suit the site.

Flake Ice and Where It Earns Its Keep

Flake is soft, mouldable and mostly surface area, which is why it wins on seafood counters, salad bars and produce displays: it packs around irregular product and pulls heat out fast without bruising. It is not a beverage ice; it melts too quickly in a glass. If the application is drinks, the cubelet variants in this family are the right call.

Slim 22 Inch Modular Footprint

At 22 inches wide and just under 26 inches tall, the head sits on any of Hoshizaki's B-series bins, ordered separately and sized to the daily draw pattern rather than to the machine's rating.
